Meet Wally Sparks 2: The Bozos from Brazil
As he enters the cold hard winter of his life, funny man Rodney Dangerfield has apparently been thinking the deep thoughts. And just who is he turning to for that last dose of spiritual respect? A fradulent UFO cult from Quebec.

OK so I no longer thing that Dave Crowley is masquerading as Sylvain Ouimet in a French Canadian rock band. This sounds more like the Dave Crowley I know.
Has former Pawnbroker's Daughter chef David Crowley finally made good and joined French Canadian rockers Les Pistolets Roses? You tell me. Here are some shots from their latest gigs.

Anna, GG and I were walking down Parc avenue on Sunday and we saw this poster for the band that appeared to feature Crowley, one of my favorite headbangers of all time, wearing nothing but a cowboy hat. He once dedicated the song Cold Gin to me while playing at Brancos in Toronto, a memory I'll treasure always.

Congratulations to Vinnie on killing them on opening night. I've heard so much about this play, Shivah Proper, I'm really bummed that Anna and I aren't able to see it. Already started working on talking Vinnie into bringing it to the west coast. (This is not a photo of Vinnie, by the way)

In case you haven't seen them, Anna has posted some photos from the party of the year.

Since nobody commented on this article on James's blog, here are my thoughts, Vinnie.

This is a good example of why the left is so fucking boring and out of touch with the rest of the world. I can't tell you how dull I find it to read stuff like this -- like people are shocked that a mainstream American politician might have to resort to anything but theatre at the democratic convention. It's kind of like watching Hamlet and then arguing that his accent or political ideology didn't make sense.

There was a Democratic candidate that would appeal to this guy. His name was Dennis Kucinich. John Kerry is obviously not the same guy. Get over it.
I finally got around to reading Bruce Springsteen's NY Times oped about why he suddenly cares about who we vote for. I'm a fan of the Boss, but I couldn't let one thing from this article pass without comment.

His bio-line: "Bruce Springsteen is a writer and performer."

What the hell happened to musician? Or singer/songwriter? Or pop star? I guess these terms have no currency when it comes to political debating. But by calling himself a writer, I think he only makes it worse. Kind of like a garbage man calling himself a sanitation engineer.

Anyhow, turns out that Springsteen has a few books to his credit. Here are some notes on a couple of them from Amazon:
