gg has started a modern (aka jazz) dance course. one class completed and i came upon her working out a li'l routine to gladys in the living room. she thought i was snapping a still photo, but i managed to sneak a tiny video snippet. (and islay slips in with her own interpretation ...)

gigi did the monkey bars all by herself yesterday! she now has a bandaid on the palm of her hand where the skin came off, but this was a big first -- swinging from one end of the monkey bars to the other, all the while facing a drop that was twice her height.

gg says that there's this song they play at preschool after the naps. the boys really like it, but she thinks it's cool too. gives her a chance to practice air guitar. check out islay's air guitar too, as shows that she too can rock out.

gigi never wanted it to end. last week in mazatlan, she played mermaid in the pool, got henna tattoos with mummy, covered herself in jewelry, and generally lived out your basic mexican princess fantasy. it was a wonderful vacation for all.

check out la gigi in her conceptual costume. she told us she wanted to be a witch; specifically the witch from her blanche-neige et les sept nains book (a beautiful and especially spooky edition of snow white that marylène gave her).

an interesting choice -- for a long time gg was so afraid of this book that we had to hide it deep in her bookcase or she couldn't sleep at night. in fact, this scary character is not the witch but the evil step-mother who engages a witch to poison snow white, so she went as 'the witchy step-mother'.

pretty good likeness, isn't it? gg designed (dictated, really) the costume herself, makeup & all.

gg saw her first movie last night, ratatouille. she liked the movie, but her favorite part was riding on the car and motorcycle video games outside of the theater. well, that and all the candy: red vines, popcorn, cherry slushie. she was pretty amped by the time the movie was over.

gg watched "i'm your man," a documentary about leonard cohen, which features several really beautiful performances of his songs by artists like rufus & martha wainwright, kate & anna, beth orton & others. anyhow, she said today that she 'wanted to sing like rufus. behold the results. after we hit stop on this recording, she asked, "do you know that song?"
